This Water Pipit has spent the entire winter along a 200 metre stretch of shore on Ardmore Point, mostly feeding on the debris at the high water mark.
As this photo shows it has moulted into summer plumage. There is a second bird present which is still in a much paler appearance.
Photo taken directly into the sun glare on the water hence the rather washed out look.
