22nd - Salty

Cheltenham, Glos.

Many years ago, in another life, I was often accustomed to having these chaps for lunch - heated up and served over plain boiled rice with some stir-fried pak choi, they were tasty and filling. Having discovered a tin hiding at the back of the pantry tonight, I thought I'd give them a whirl for old time's sake - must have forgotten how incredibly salty they are (d'oh...the clue's in the name, dummy!). Phew, time to break out the lager I think!

Apologies for being so far behind with your photos - annoying things like work keep getting in the way :o)

it pays to stimulate the palette...although this may be an extreme option as they look a tad dry...bottoms up then...V

I think the makers of Lager promote these kind of products. I have a selection myself. Mrs. Amoxtli won't touch them though. She doesn't know what she's missing. Great shot Doug. :)

So did you check the sell by date?
Perhaps they are like a vintage wine and improve with age?

Larger to the rescue. I would say they look appetising, but they just don't.

Salted minnows? We use them for trout fishing here. :-) Nice product shot!
