This is known as the floating harbour and was in use from the 1800's until the 1960's The whole area has now been transformed. The caravan site at Baltic Wharf we stayed at was once a thriving timber yard. The only original building which a derelict in 1960's is the Cottage Inn, some 50 yards from the entrance from the rear gate.
