Life on a still Sunday by Canon Image Challenge

Experimented with doing still life photography and then got to polish off the props for dinner.

You've done well with this, and still, I have two thoughts on how you could make it even better next time: 1. Desaturate and darken the tomatoes slightly, I feel they are a bit over-powering. 2. I think it would be more interesting in an environment, a suitable context, instead of the black cloth background. Speaking of the cloth in the background, I can see creases, but I don't see that as detracting at all from this image. On the contrary, I prefer that to an all smooth and black background.

An excellent picture, Farside - I like here everything - the idea, composition, brilliant colors. I would give you two votes but ... in an another challenge. This is definitely an interesting presentation but I'm not quite sure this is a presentation af a casual scene. I have no intention to move this (as well as any other) picture to Pending but it is for me not quite on topic. Anyway - this is a brilliant work and I love it. K

Well thank all for being genrous about my "oversight" it did occur to me that a still life is not very sudden but I guess that depends on ones pace of life ;-). I like your thinking Shu. Spring onions and tomatoes (et al) make a great salad with a juicy steak and washed down with decent red is quite delicious! Michael PS I'm happy to move this to pending if it's deemed to be totally off topic

it's beautiful -- we all have our own idea as to what's on topic. if michael set this up and was quite surprised when he saw this exceptional shot on his monitor, it would indeed be something he stumbled upon trying to get just the right composition....so for him, he "suddenly saw......the correct shot!" i love this. it is beautiful to look at and it will most-certainly get my vote. shu

Nah, K's good, and besides this is soooooooo much better than my still life...which I still like...but this is a whole different level. It's just....yummy, yummy! Gorgeous colors and an interesting array of things....but the green onions, with a nice red wine? Is THIS normal?....(grin, but also a serious question) Best Wishes, Traveller
