Female mosquito having a meal

There were several of these very beautiful mosquitoes around, last fall in a west end wetland area. I photographed one having a meal on my arm, and when one landed on Stephen, he obligingly allowed her feed while I photographed. I think this is a really beautiful insect. Look at those long golden legs, and the hints of blue and gold on her thorax.

A remarkable capture of such a tiny creature, thanks to the victim for offering a meal. V

I've done that too letting them bite me. Anything for a good pic! :)

Beautiful, yes, but I wish they liked wildlife more than me! V

I do not share your enthusiasm with mosquitoes christine.
I cower when I hear them around.
