Me in front of Mount Robson

Mount Robson is the most prominent mountain in the Rocky Mountains and is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. It rises to 3,954 m (12,972 ft) and while there are mountains far taller than Mount Robson in the north-west, it is a very impressive sight due to its steep and nearly vertical cliff faces and the fact that it rises 3000 m abruptly from the surrounding terrain. The mountain is plainly visible from the Yellowhead Highway as seen in the photo above.

The Yellowhead Highway is a major road that runs east-west for 2,960 kilometres (1,840 miles) through the four western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The highway is named after the Yellowhead Pass, which was the old route to cross the Canadian Rockies. The name Yellowhead originates from the fur trader and explorer Pierre Bostonais who had yellow streaks in his hair and was nicknamed "Tête Jaune" (Yellowhead).
Once I arrived at the Yellowhead Highway I noticed a change in the landscape change which is more cultivated with the occasional farm here and there, and there are also more facilities along the road than further up north. I followed the Yellowhead Highway for around 900 kilometres through Prince George and onto Mount Robson and Jasper National Park.
