During the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, this old 17th c. house was burnt down.
After the Uprising an unknown woman lived in the ruins together with pigeons, people called her a "Pigeon-keeper".
When the house was rebuilt in 1953, the portal with sculpture of pigeons (by Janina Karwowska) was added to commemorate that woman.
