The Lawson House

My snowshoes came in very handy today whilst capturing a few images of the "Lawson House".
We all call it the Lawson House but it really is the Mitchell Home, built in 1919 by a very skilled carpenter,
this home was full on new innovations at the time. It was wired for power and it was not until the mid 50's
that this area would even see power. The home was fully plumbed in anticipation of running water.
Sadly the Mitchell's would never see any of their dreams come true here, as in 1929 they packed up and moved
some four hours east to Indian Head. The house and ten acres of land was sold a few years ago with hopes that
the home could be rebuilt...but at a current cost of just under a million dollars this dream will likely never come true ether.
Here I stand back to shoot a few images of her in the winter, which I have never done.
The wind at my back and temps hitting -34C with the windchill never keeps me from shooting in the winter.

Really nice juxtaposition of elements Mike - how did you get your camera in this position? ~V~

The POV is unique and interesting. The subject is stark against the sky ~V~

Great story and very cool perspective at 14mm. And what's up with the jeans at -34C?

I echo Brian's comment about jeans! Very cool POV though.

This is awesome. Wow, was your camera on the ground or did you manipulate your body? Awsome POV!
