Wandering around near a wetland, I came across this beaver dragging a young sapling back to a small bit of open water. When he realized I was standing there, he leaped in the air (second photo), and set off a faster pace, but still clinging to the stick. This poor guy is probably very hungry, and taking advantage of the milder weather to gather as much food as he can.
