Out and about today, I saw this poor little guy dragging a sapling down to a wetland area. Normally beaver are snug under the ice at this time of year. But mild weather and some open water is tempting them to be more active. This one was rather slender (for a beaver) and is a youngster I am sure, kicked out of his home in fall to find his way in the world, as happens each fall with young beaver.
