Update (Dec. 31st):
I've spoken to a few people who have been visiting the Hilda Road feeders the last 2 days and report that the number of redpolls there have dwindled back to about 5-6 on Dec. 30th and 2 or so on Dec. 31st. These are second hand reports so I really have no idea how many redpolls are still visiting the feeders but it was quiet today when I visited. There is another feeder around the corner along Riverdown on private property. There must be numerous feeders in the general neighbourhood as well. The weather is quite mild, maybe that has something to do with it? The flock may have moved on or they may still be around. For those interested in owls, a Great Horned Owl was reported in the general area of the feeders yesterday being mobbed by crows.
Original post (Dec. 29th).
I was at the Hilda Road feeders for maybe 20 minutes when I saw a redpoll that had a "pushed in face" appearance and a frosty look to it. In another image you can see the undertail coverts are white.
