Documentation shot. Snowshoe hares change from their brown summer coats to an all white coat in winter. The fur colour, "hare" today, gone tomorrow. The fella on the left is kind of catching up.

The guy on the left is a tad...ok...a whole lot...skittish. People have managed to photograph either one or the other but here is a photo of the two together. This was taken in very low light. I had to approach cautiously from a long distance and do it without spooking them. The fact I got so close shows I'm in tune with my subjects :-)
