20101206_063473 Sweeping The Streets Clean, Ready For The New Week (Mon 06 Dec)

Alfred St Circular Quay, Sydney, NSW

I have to say at the outset, on balance I'm very happy with my Olympus E-P1 if you leave aside the fact that the controls, while easy to navigate, have a tendency to be too easy to knock around. Also there seems to be an uncommanded shutter release on occasion, but that may well be some kind of function command sequence that I'm hitting accidentally.

However occasionally I do have to remind myself... this ain't the 40D. My previous shots had been in low light and I forgot that I still had it set to ISO 800. Given the noise reduction in Canon chips, a setting of ISO 800 wouldn't make a great deal of difference on the 40 but on the E-P1? Looked at at 100% the result is grainier than a box of Vita Brits though it's far less noticeable once the image has been shrunken down for the Web. (But not completely gone.)

In any case, I originally wanted to get the early morning sunlight on the tree (I was perhaps 15 minutes too late for that to come out well), but when I saw the street sweeper cleaning away the garbage of the footpath in preparation for another week... yes, that'll do, I thought.

Film? What's that.
I like the echoing greens, his coat, the trees and sign in the window.
Mostly I'm happy with my Pen although there are occasions when I wish I had a DSLR with me.
