Pearl Harbor

Cruiser's Crew

The superstructure of HMCS Ontario is practically hidden by the ship's company in this photo taken at Pearl harbor when the cruiser called there on her return voyage from the South Pacific.

Additional observations of this photo, six men are standing on what appear to be observation rooms, three men on each side below the bridge. These rooms are covered up in your current photo. also seen in my photo are the two cannons with a sailor sitting on each cannon. On your picture, the cannons are not visible.

I purchased a similar photo of the entire Ontario crew except the there seems to be additional crew than in the photo on your site. The crew are dressed in black or blue uniforms and shows some of the crew standing on the upper right and upper left of the ship just below the bridge and more crew on top of the bridge. The photo shows low hills about 500 yards to the rear of the ship. In addition there are two small freighters which appear to be tied up to some dockage. I don't know where or when this picture was taken but If anyone is interested I will be pleased to add this photo to your site.
