Terrific informal portrait!

Nice job, Steve on controlling the light... even if its from a single flash. In fact, all the more reason to call out what an excellent exposure this is. By showing the details in all the bins behind your subject really add very important meaning to the whole composition. Great job!

Prime portrait.
Very natural.
Great shot, Steve...

Thanks all. I am almost embarrassed to admit it Terry, but this is a single, on camera flash. I pumped up the iso so that the ambient light would function as fill and then bounced the on camera flash off the wall behind me to supply a very broad key light. This is the kind of thing that we would not have been able to do with film, or even with early generation digital; sensors that deliver low noise at high iso, coupled with modern small flashes, have really expanded the possibilities.

I like the pose with his charges. Very nicely done
