Before the BLM rounded up the wild horses last year, there were two sets of nearly identically colored mares that ran in the same herd. One set of twins (white) were captured and not released. (They are featured in many of my images). The other set of twins are the grey mares in this photo. I believe they were just too far away on the day of the roundup to have been gathered. These mares are always and have always been together. One of the twins has a new baby, here peeking around the back of it's mother while she drinks at the waterhole as the sun sets.
