One very unique appearance in the Richardson Bay a few years ago were the
"swimming homes" of Sausalito. Numerous explanations were given about their
origin. They ranged from "nostalgia for the extraordinary way of living,"
down to considering them a plain "menace" and "evading city taxes."

Over the years, these swimming homes in Sausalito became rare. This is one of the few remaining.
