All four statues are of Ramses II 3572

The smaller figures are of Nefertari, his favorite wife, and some of their many children. An earthquake caused the second figure to crack and fall off; they have left the broken pieces on the ground.

With all the trouble and effort they took in dismantling, moving and restoring this monument, they could have at least put it back together.

I had to go away for a bit and when I got back, this picture was sort of stunning. I like the angle and the sky looks as if you had a poloroid filter on it's so solid. About what they did with the 2nd statue, they share my notion of housekeeping.
