I volunteer two Sundays a month to care for the raptors at Richardson Nature Center.
Usually when I have the birds out there are visitors in the nature center who ask questions about them (kids especially.) Here I'm talking to a family about the American kestrel. I told them that it's North America's smallest falcon, and that this is a male who had a broken wing which couldn't be repaired. I usually demonstrate how he can keep his head perfectly still while his body moves, which is a cool trick.
