The Orion Starshoot autoguider camera is seen mounted above the Canon 40D. The guide camera is connected to a laptop and the guid port on the mount. The laptop processes the image taken, determines the amount of error then sends correction commands to the mount via the autoguider.
The Canon camera has been modified by the Hutech Corp. with a clear internal filter glass. The removal of the stock filter increases the red response into the near infrared.
