Checkered beetles (Trichodes nutalli) and Crab spider

These three were on a buttercup (Ranunculus). The crab spider was edging towards the two and at one point reached out and put a couple of legs on them. Then I accidentally jostled the plant and the spider slipped over the other side of the petals and waited. The beetles didn't seem to notice either me or the spider.
