Lupines

The lupine in the Butterfly Meadow are not a native species. However, they are certainly pretty and come in various shades of lilac and purple, including this intense colour.

The question is are they attracting butterflies to the meadow? I know they are supposed to be good nectar plants for Butterflies and that the Endangered Karner Blue needs Native wild Lupines, but do you actually observe Butterflies nectaring on these Lupines? Just wondering .
