Despite some scheduling challenges, we had a good turnout of 14 Minnesota Master Naturalists for this event. We learned a lot about WRC, such as:
- They treat over 8500 animals each year
- There are 10 part-time and full-time staff members
- During the spring season, WRC has 500 volunteers
- Robins and rabbits are among the most common patients in the spring
- WRC is the go-to center for treating trumpeter swans
- Three nurseries treat orphaned animals - mammal, waterfowl, and avian
