The plate is to celebrate Mr. Tang Yung Kang (1831 – 1900) was appointed by Tongzhi Emperor of Qing Dynasty as a research student of Imperial Academy. In some folklore, the death of Tongzhi Emperor was caused by syphilis when he was 20 years old. Syphilis is a kind of sexual transmitted disease.
