The discussions of paintings usually crack me up, because basically the discussions
tend to become a cacophony of noise, with the emphasis on "phony".
This is especially true in discussions on abstract or expressionist works.
Since they are non-representative in nature, the only discussion should center
on how they make you feel. And the "application of color works to dissuade one
of the relationship between time and space" kind of comments are pure BS.
Just look at the art. Do you like it or not?
The reasons why are myriad and are really not meant to be heard.
