Having the tennis ball touch my forehead tells me that I am properly parked in the garage. This home-made device was used for years with my Subaru station wagon to guide me to the correct parking position in the garage. I sold the Subaru in 2007 and bought a Toyota Sienna mini-van, which is too tall, too long, and too wide to fit in the garage. The alignment ball was no longer needed, so it got stored near the ceiling to keep it out of the way. During my garage make-over project I used it to park myself. The feeling of alignment was satisfying. :-)
Aligned with this effort was Ralph Tripod, who held my camera in the correct position .
