5th: Mailme

Venice

Regarding the lens , this is the IS version which is not a choice in the camera lens box.

It is 20 elements in 15 groups and the zoom system is a 7 group helical where as

the older 70-200 is 16 elements in 13 groups and the zoom system is a rotating type

other sizes: small medium original auto

thanks Najinski.

My thoughts were to keep the strip as it is the same color as the mailbox and to me it just breaks up the flatness of the image by giving it a more geometrical effect.

Yes, that lens is my favourite. It was the first L glass I bought, at the time for 20D and it was a revelation. I mean that in quite a strict sense of the word, it was the day I began believing lenses were significantly more important than the bodies.

Anyway regarding this lovely image, If it were mine, the white stripe would have to go. Either crop (which I realise would ruin the 'thirds' placement) or repaint in the same orange as its neighbour (possibly my preference if the seems didn't spoil it). I could just not leave it like this!! Regards -Najinsky
