This place at the end of Loch Eilean in Cairngorm is oft photographed but this is definitely some of the best light and most interesting conditions I have had the good fortune to photograph it in. I was leading a group of photographers and had relinquished my tripod when this beautiful golden shaft of light illuminated a pool of mist that hovered around the island castle. The tripod briefly migrated my way and I got this shot by the outflow of the loch the blue snow pillows adorning the banks deftly providing a little foreground interest where the oily black water drained out of the loch.
