Not the best photo of Carley... She was my first big time food and resource guarder. She would guard the strangest things like squares of carpet or areas of the house. She wasn't afraid to bite either (but she never drew blood). She loved the snow though, and loved my sheltie Sunny. She was a stray that wouldn't let anyone touch her at first. Somehow I ended up taking her home. She loved me and claimed my lap as hers. My husband Paul really did not like her. He still shudders whenever he sees her photo. Hah!

She never did get over the resource guarding, but has found a wonderful life time rescue with a friend of the shelter. She says Carley is the best dog on the planet and hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding. She does like to bite the mailman though!
