Queen-of-the-prairie (Filipendula rubra)

This tall, showy flower is native to areas south of Ontario in the US. It is often planted in gardens because of its superb colour and height. It can spread fairly rapidly. Bees, flies, butterflies are all attracted to it, although at the FWG we find it is mostly pollinating bees that are the prime visitors.
