Saint Benedict Painted Church - Honaunau


This beautiful church was erected in 1899 by Father John Velghe without any formal training.
He used house paint on regular wood to create the fresco-like themes on the walls and ceiling.
An excellent historical perspective can be read on the official Painted Church website.

I used 10 separate exposures to build a high dynamic resolution (HDR) rendition of this jewel.

Beautiful result! Great equipment there to get to this beauty.

I was wondering how you managed to get the extreme wide angle on a full frame to be corrected? Adobe LR? PTLens? ...?

Your great sense of vision and your outstanding post-processing work have rendered an incredibly beautiful image of this very special little church. This was my neighborhood church for 8 years, as my house was less than 100 yards away. You do it proud, Yves, with this wonderful image... Aloha, G.
