Tula is located 84 km from mexico City, in the state of Hidalgo Mexico. The city of Tula was founded sometime around 1000- A. D. and was the probable capital of the Toltec Civilization.

The City was the largest in Central Mexico in the 9th and 10th centuries, covering an area of some 12km. While it might have been the largest city in Mesoamerica at the same time, some Mayan sites in the Yucatan Peninsula may have rivaled its population during this period.

The site is famous for the four stone warriors called “Los Atlantes”. El Palacio Quemado (the burned palace),which has several columns and where you can admire the Chac-mool, a statue characteristic to his period. Distinctive Toltec features here include terraced pyramids, colonnaded buildings, and relief sculptures.
