Shooting under pressure, Moab, Utah, 2009

Some photographers work well under pressure. I caught this expression as one of our tour participants crushed her nose into the back of her camera – she winced, but kept on shooting until the van was ready to depart.

Expression is everything here, Alina. It is the process of making known our thoughts and feelings. That is what this photographer is doing -- she is telling us how she feels at the moment. Another meaning for expression is the look on someone's face that conveys a particular emotion. This is quite a powerful expression -- ouch!

Love this one. It is full of expression.

Thanks, Ann, for this comment. I don't think luck was an issue here -- I had a wonderful subject. She was passionate about her images, and it shows here, pain and all.

I think we have all been there and done that at some time. Not all of us lucky enough to have it captured so well! ;)
