19-AUG-2009 Racine Erland

Day 13

Cape Mears, Or

Wed - Aug 19
Neskowin, Or
Weather - foggy and mid 60’s on the coast, much warmer as you travel inland, (HOT)

Willamette Valley was bracing for record high temps today (high 90’s or 37/38C) and I’d have to say we like the fog much better than 90 degree temps. Our plan for the day was to explore the coast from Neskowin to Tillamook.

Wow…there was LOTS to see and even though the fog was a white-out in some areas, we managed, as always, to find some interesting subjects to photograph. Most notable for us were the brown pelicans in Tillamook Bay. Pelicans were high on Racine’s list of ‘hope for’s’ (hope for a chance to get a shot of….this can be a long list) and to say we were both pleased and excited at the opportunity would be a gross understatement.

We took some time out from our exploring to search for needed parts for Gus’s sewer hook-up and were successful. Whew…. now just need to get it all hooked up. As usual, if there is any daylight left we just keep looking for more photo-ops, so by the time we got home, there’s just enough light to get all hooked up. (not easy, but no swearing :O))

While I was out tackling the sewer connection Rae was working tirelessly on the blog and web site. It is so nice to have a good wi-fi connection here.

Another full day and still so much to see, we may have to come back and visit this area again. The adventure continues…

What a magnificent capture! You two sure are making the most of your photo ops, that's for sure. Please enjoy to the hilt (which you're are doing); we miss you both!
