Panorama experiment at Branched Oak Lake, Nebraska 7/26/2009
Image was stitched with Canon PhotoStitch. The original photos for the Microsoft panorama were these same photos; only the processing was different.
View using the "original" size option and use the browser's "sliders" to navigate left <-> right.
The tree shown at the ends of the panorama is the same tree... but a from a different photo.
I don't like the curvature of the horizon in this rendition! The very same photos were stitched into a 360° Quicktime VR "movie" using the same Canon program, and it did not exhibit drastic shift in the horizon. Neither did the prior Microsoft ICE rendition. But the Canon panorama software offers more flexibility in repairing errors and choosing from several different "projections." More experimentation seems to be in order if my skills at this sort of thing are ever going to improve.
