Best in Original size More 'Pyrotechniques' HERE
Don't mind me ... just being critical and thinking out aloud.
One of the issues with roll film is that it is practically impossible to
custom develop individual frames. So when you have deep shadow
and white sand here, you have to expose somewhat for the shadow detail
and then deal with the highlight in development, and later in printing
perhaps. But, if the next frame is all shadow, or all high contrast for
example, at the conclusion of the roll what should be the plan for
the development? In a perfect world, I suppose you could carry 4 or
5 different film backs all loaded with the same iso film, and then use each back
for different circumstances, and develop each accordingly. Well, for me,
life is too short to mess with all that. So, an image like this needs work
in the darkroom, or some clever 'photoshopping' to make it have a smooth
progression of tones. Or you take what you can get. Aahh! That's better. ;-)
