Exploring 'Pyro' with 'Classic' Emulsions

Pyrotechniques for July 4th. ;-)

A salute to the 'oldtimers' - pyrogallol, metol, and Kodalk.
Various 'solutions' and 'brews' based around pyrogallol (pyro) were
commonly used as a developer in the 19th and early 20th
centuries, and are enjoying somewhat of a retro popularity
with fine art photographers and printmakers in the 21st century.
(Complete with rubbers gloves, dust mask and eye protection!)

This gallery is an 'exploration', and image quality may reflect that.
