The shores of Lake Albert is a charming holiday destination at the
northern end of The Coorong. The great attractions of this area are
the boating & bird watching.

Originally inhabited by
the Ngarrindjeri people of which there were five tribal groups.

These days with modern agricultural methods of irrigation & cropping,
The Meningie district is known as a hugely successful dairy area
as well as producing substantial acreage of irrigated crops.
The town also has a large fishing fleet.
