Balcony Dawn View

Corsica

This and the next one were taken only a few minutes apart - it's amazing what difference the dawn makes...
Which do you prefer?
Taken in from a holiday apartment in Lumio, Corsica

The light and color here make the shot - the background feels so cold, perfectly countered by the warm inviting town.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.
Gideon: I woke up early due to the temperature - the apartment had no air conditioning so the rooms were very hot, but the balcony was lovely and cool.
But having got up the obvious thing to do was take some photos...and I'm glad I did!
Mike.

Both are superb images. The extra light has given the later version an edge in terms of IQ. Still, this one is my favourite on account of sheer visual impact.

What were you doing up so early on holiday? Oh, right, taking pictures. Tell my wife about it...

Both images in this series are absolutely beautiful! This is my hands-down favorite, however, because of the colors - the purple mountains in the background, the lights of the distant village, and most of all, the greens, yellows and oranges of the foreground that are such a great counterbalance to the blue sky above.
