It was snowy, it was cold and these swans were gathered together with others trying to warm up in a small patch of sunshine. Trumpeter Swans are commonly seen during the winter months on fields in Southern Vancouver Island. An estimated 10,000 Trumpeter Swan winter along the southwest coast of British Columbia. This represents about 1/2 of the world's population.
