Harmonia axyridis. aka Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle, Variable Lady Beetle.
Can't be sure this is a male, but the pattern on the pronotum is typical for a male of
this species. Also, the faintness of the spots on the elytra suggests that this specimen
has recently emerged from its pupa.
Lady beetles are not as easy to photograph as one would think. They busily search for aphids;
when not in motion they either pull in their heads or wedge them into some crevice, eg at
leaf nodes, making a whole-bug shot impossible. They are also camera shy.
Here the head and palps are well extended, but the subject was not holding still.
