Boatman and Bird, Aswan, Egypt, February 2009. We were on an excursion on a small boat. It was difficult to get in position for the shot and hold the camera steady. A vibration reduction lens helped. It was very hot and there was extremly bright and glary lighting. A polarising filter helped reduce the glare. It is tricky to expose white subjects correctly in those conditions. Fortunately, I got it right. That rendered the background pretty dark but it seemed to suit the image.
