The breeze picked up some as we motor-sailed from Ormond Beach to Daytona Beach. It got chilly enough for us to close three of the panels on the cockpit curtains.
| Leaving Daytona Beach, I took Shibumi off of auto-pilot to hand steer because of some unusal traffic in the area. I nearly ran the ship aground by straying out of the channel while studying the navigation chart too intently. It was a good reminder for me that I don't have my sea legs (or brain) yet this trip. |
We anchored at Rockhouse Creek near Ponce Inlet before 3 in the afternoon. There were two other ships anchored in the small creek, so we took our time setting the hook in a current that was running opposite to the wind. This is a great spot to settle in for the night.
