the big ease

After the big freeze, two weeks of sub zero temperature, today was a balmy 6 Celsius.
Most of the snow went overnight, the rest has gone today.

Great shot I agree with Stewart much more character than a blanket of snow, but give me more snow love it, how else are you going to get shots like this!

Ah well, it was great while it lasted.
Spring has to come sooner or later.

Layers of lines of style and shape. Nicely 'scene'
J. Scott Coile16-Feb-2009 01:52
The walls create nice contrasting meandering lines.

I like it when the snow recedes....makes for evocative shots like this...much better than seas of blank white!! Grat comp Johnny :-)

Wavey wall, far off elephants, hints of green and slush & mud...despite all that, like Nicky, I like this photo as a reminder of what winter can be like. Nice one, Johnny...

I know, just when I cross the Irish sea, the snow goes.
Great composition with that wavy wall.
Nicki Thurgar15-Feb-2009 20:59
Love the wavey wall... and at least we have lots of photos to remind us how cold it was when we're sweltering in the summer to come...! ;O)

Glad to hear the weather is warming up a bit.
This image almost looks monochromatic...or is it? It's so hard to tell when it is dull and miserable outdoors.
Zak15-Feb-2009 20:54
on it's way to Bute i hope! ;-)
Máire Uí Mhaicín15-Feb-2009 20:46

Kevin Chester15-Feb-2009 20:27
And now all the rivers have burst their banks. LOL.
Ann...15-Feb-2009 20:04
Hurrah!! for disappearing snow... I love the wiggly wall.

It looks so bleak without the sun - evocative shot. Chris

Those elephants 'll be grazing on the green stuff again...
I wonder if we'll get more of the white?
Phillip Normanton15-Feb-2009 19:33
Yup, just mud, muck and slush left now. Spring next please :o))
beverley harrison15-Feb-2009 19:32
