I saw what looked to be a Merlin perched high in a tree while driving home from running errands on April 10th, 2008. I pulled over to watch, and soon realized there were a pair of Merlins, and witnessed them mate. A few residents of the neighborhood had noticed the birds too. This pair of Merlins eventually chose a nest (they chose an abandoned crow nest) in a very tall pine tree and raised 5 young falcons. It was the first know Merlin nest in Seattle.
