Sometimes you have to spoil yourself
Any rock would have fit the bill
Heck, I guess Cubic Zirconia even would have been fine.
Or the darker diamond chips that were a bit cloudy.
After all, the one I lost was not a great stone.
It did mean a lot to me just because of how long I had it.
It fell out of my ear and was nowhere to be found.
So out we went shopping for a new one to replace it.
The normal ones were nice but not quite "it".
On their own they were fine but by comparison, wow.
When you looked at the certified ones they were spectacular.
None of the cloudiness in those ones, they just sparkled.
In the end I got the one I wanted to get for myself.
The one that sparkled and glittered just like me.
So are you looking for a metaphor out of this?
Are you looking to understand what it really means?
Let me help you along with that little riddle.
This is a metaphor for life and relationships.
You can have one that is kind of cloudy.
It can work, but it will never glitter like the sun.
It can be lost, and you can mourn the loss, but it is gone.
You have some time without it and you process the loss.
Then, all of a sudden you can find something that sparkles.
It is the one you deserved all along but you were not ready.
Now that you are ready the glitter does not blind you.
The sparkle does not hurt your eyes because it matches your own.
And the whole world shines a little brighter.
Oh, and don't worry about my losing this one.
When you get a good one, it has a "screw-back".
They don't get lost like the cheap clip that held on the old one.
It won't pop off when you take off a sweatshirt.
It is strong enough to hold on.
