Ok, maybe not EVER, but I was pretty impressed with this guy. He was so good, I wanted to get back in line so I could sit on his lap. Hey, a guy with a 4 year old camera body has to cover all bases.
We didn't have to wait in line very long at all either. Maybe some people were still digging out from the foot of snow we got today. More on that tomorrow.
Just a CMA (cover my ass) we did pay for the photos we wanted and I only scanned in this one to share on the web. I had to fix the skin tones a little and I sharpened it a tad.
It was kinda fun looking over the gear they were using to do the photos with. I didn't want to seem like the know-it-all-asshole, so I didn't ask any questions. But it looked like they were using a D50 sized Nikon body with a kit lens, mounted to the table on an angle bracket. They were using a single Calumet 750 monolight and a small softbox, which was actually pointed upward a little. There was a handwritten sticker below the power level dial that had <--DARKER - BRIGHTER-->. I thought that was kinda funny. It looked to be set at about 1/4 power. Attached to the camera was a twin dye sub printers kicking out prints just as fast as Santa could get them on and off his lap.
EDIT:Let me reword my last sentence. I'll put forth a better effort in my pad shot tomorrow. I did not take this one, so it's a bit of a cop out.
