9th December 2008

Dad: I'm sorry to report that Pooch is poorly. Some of you may remember the injury to one of his
front paws that happened in September. Well, we thought it had healed cleanly weeks ago, but yesterday
we noticed some tenderness in his paw again and today there's noticeable heat and swelling. As
before, it's a total mystery what's triggered the problem to occur.
To make matters worse we are again disagreeing with our vet over the right course of action - they
are recommending complicated tests and investigative surgery and a biopsy when we would much
prefer an alternative course of treatment that is much simpler and would see Pooch on the road to recovery much sooner.

Anyway, here's a pic from a more cheery occasion - Pooch in front of the ancient city wall of York.

UPDATE 10th December 2008: thanks for the comments... we are getting a second opinion from a different vet practice later today...

Oh Pooch, you must get that paw better for Christmas. In the meantime, know that we are all sending you the very best thoughts and hope they help in your recovery.
