Wired, Tozeur, Tunisia, 2008

A satellite dish is overwhelmed by a tangle of utility wires, a stark contrast in technologies. I surround the dish with the glow of the setting sun. The golden light also bathes a building in the background – its rebars tell us that construction, like technology, moves at it own timeless pace in the small desert towns of North Africa.

Thanks of seeing the mood of Tunisia in the golden light, Pranav. It is very much a key to this image.

Your 'contrast in technologies' theme, duly noted Phil! Also one tends to imagine that this being Tunisia, the buildings are somewhere in a Romantic desert town which travelers of old passed through. The golden light really seems to give this effect.
