These poor snakes have had their gall bladders removed as shown in the previous photos. They are then placed in these wire holding cages for I don't konw how long...no doubt several days. Their only way out is as snake soup. To look at they all seemed healthy and alert but I don't know the long term effects of removing their gall bladders. In this restaurant snake soup is generally made from 3 or more different types of snake and sells for $35 HKD a bowl.
